De sfeer in Little Village is erg leuk.

Hallo lieve mensen hier mijn bericht over Little Village 2015

    “Little gem with great value!

We booked for 3 nights in February and extended one night as we enjoyed it so much. It is like a mini resort 20 minutes outside the city with great rooms (with large veranda) with safe, tv and even minibar and large bathroom. The garden is very well kept with facilities for kid like mini playground and trampoline. There is even a pool next to the small restaurant. Cleanliness is of a very good standard. It is run like a home stay with informal service style and we walked into the kitchen to order our breakfast or dinner dishes :-). The owners are very personally involved and extremely helpful and give great suggestions for excursions. They own a bicycle rental company and tours start from the resort. Very good quality mountain bikes. We tried two trips and had great fun! Our 8 year old twin boys loved the place and never got bored. They helped to build a campfire one evening and all guests initiated a joint dinner and joined the activity all very spontaneous. We also enjoyed massage service a few times which can be pre-ordered. pricing is very friendly and overall value is really great! We can highly recommend this place!

Our first stop during our 4 week trip was in little village. What a great way to start our holiday. A serene place, where you can totally relax. Great hosts, a nice little pool surrounded by banana plants and a lovely room with veranda. 20 minutes away from chang mai. Our son (3 years old) also had a great time here. We booked a jungle trip/elephant ride, a bicycle trip and a night safari. All great things do do we a 3 year old. This place feels like home!
Thanks Hans (and his lovely thai wife), hope to see you again!

A great find, just outside Chiang Mai. This place is very relaxing, and sums up the beautiful Thai countryside. Great little lodges, refreshing pool, friendly people, what else could someone ask for?
There are plenty of bikes, so make sure you go on a bike ride too!!!!
If you are looking for something a little different, especially if you have young kids ( we have 2 aged 8 and 4) and want to experience a little more authentic Thailand stay here….you won’t regret it!

    Hi there,

Just wanted to say thanks again to the Little Village crew for the wonderful time we had at Little Village. We spent 4 days in this resort and it was very relaxing. My wife and me like to combine an active holiday with some quietness and this was the perfect combination. Also really enjoyed the food. Thanks!

  12. Ben Hoge says:

Thanks to Hans, the owner, we have had some excellent trips across Thailand. He has been a resident in Thailand for many years and has been a professional in the travel industry before he started his own little resort. There are so many options in the Changmai area, you definitely can use some help to make your choice! Hans will help you to select the best locations and get the best guides. Our jungle trip was fantastic both due to the chosen route and the guide (great guy born in one of the jungle villages).
The resort itself is very pleasant. We loved the pool and the sitting area. It is nice and cosy . Great for relaxing and reading a good book!

  13. Lucas says:

I came on my own to Thailande after a 1 year challenge in China and found here the best place ever to unwind! John picked me up at the airport right after landing from a 1 hour trip from Bangkok, we headed to his resort and started our bike run! Great location, perfect place to chill and wonderful staff! I stayed there one night but I had been welcomed as if the staff ever knew me! They accompanied through all over my journey and never let me feel lonely! A special dedication to Stacey who had been very service-minded!

  14. Michele says:

Little Village was an idyllic stop for us along our traveling path, providing restful nights and well-fed, fun, peaceful days in a lovely setting. Our hosts, Dutchman Hans and his Thai wife, Too, were very warm and welcoming, consistently offering excellent service throughout our stay. A major bonus was how comfortable we felt as a family– to let our young kids run free in such a nice setting, not to mention, having many meals made to order was awesome. LV ‘s location is great if you desire quietude, closeness with nature, and easy access to excellent cycling. It is a good base for activities outside of Chiang Mai city, particularly to the south. Hans has a great selection of bikes, even for kids, and his reputable tours based in the city leave from his place. The pool was small for laps but a good size for kids and even saline, a real luxury. We thoroughly enjoyed our traditional style teak house, which had a huge, raised porch with lovely seating overlooking their flowering garden and neighboring fields. It was surprisingly bug free, and overall, the property had very few Mosquitos (though quite a few stray bees from a nearby honey farm). Our kids loved the trampoline, small playground, fireflies at night, cows lowing nearby, and birds singing in the morning. We too loved Little Village!
Room Tip: Room 7 was the most private and quiet.

  16. Lisa says:

This place was fantastic, Very calming and peaceful which allowed two very good nights sleep! It’s not really in Chiang Mai and takes a bit of effort to get into town so it’s a different experience to staying in the city, we went on a bike ride around the local villages nearby which was nice

  17. Fam. Mans says:

This is a very nice small resort with very nice hosts.
There is a nice clean pool to relax. The houses are very cosy, elevated and all wood.
There is a small restaurant having a few nice Thai and Western dishes.
I can certainly recommend this place. Don’t look further, just book it!!!!

After a gruesome off-road 4×4-trip from Mae Hong Son, we finally arrived in Little Village. We were welcomed by the friendly owners, got a very nice dinner and a couple of well-deserved cool beers. After that we enjoyed a good night’s rest in their comfortable rooms. Thank you for giving us a nice time.

  20. Ed Stevens says:

We did not consult TripAdvisor for reviews prior to booking here since the package that we were offered (1 nights lodging, plus a bike tour plus a cooking school) met our needs, so it was nice to see the high level of satisfaction from previous visitors. Add another “excellent” to the list.
We actually added a second night to our stay there (done in advance) so were able to enjoy 2 full days at the resort. Friendly and helpful hosts (dank u Hans) plus cool accommodations and a reasonable price made for a good stay.
Just an aside: Lots of families stay here which might be a little intrusive if you are looking for a romantic hideaway. Not really a problem for us, but I could see someone having an issue if they were looking solely for relaxation and quiet.

  21. Mrs Salt says:

This is a beautiful little place outside of town in the countryside. Great people. Great food. Great accommodations. We had everything we needed for our two night stay. Their bikes were in perfect condition and it’s a great place to grab a bike and go for a ride. Super friendly and helpful. It was unusually cold but we had plenty of blankets. Not their fault we forgot to pack for the cold at night. Brr. Well organized trip and super smooth. We would defiantly recommended if you want to hang out and enjoy peaceful countryside with nice people and beautiful surroundings.

We enjoyed a very good stay for some days in this small and quiet resort just outside Chiang Mai. Very friendly and helpful owners. Clean and complete appartments. We enjoyed very much the full day bicycling tour with a guide and another half day bicycling tour on our own. Excellent bicycles and a nice stay at the swimming pool after the tour. The restaurant offered nice Thai dishes.

If you enjoy the personal touch, where you almost feel like part of the family, then Little Village is the place for you!
Quiet, family-friendly, lovely large comfortable rooms and good food.
The pool was lovely, but could be made even better if a few more sun loungers were available.

I was there with one of my friends. We had a warm welcome and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. Service was good and the personnel were really nice and friendly. Also beautiful bungalows, in Thai style.

It’s just a real nice accommodation on a great spot. Very good if you want to relax and you’re in small time back in town. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to other people.

Oh, and breakfast and dinner taste good and has a nice service. You don’t have to leave to can eat very nice, for a good price.

And for the Dutch peoples they also have some Dutch food

  28. Dave Tucker says:

Bear in mind you are 30+ minutes to Chiang Mai city, most people’s priority, but Little Village is off main roads in countryside so quiet, birdsong etc. very relaxing. Nice clean pool, big clean bungalows, good shower, A/C etc. Top advantage for us was free use of bicycles (choose from 100 or more, it’s a bike company) to wander through local villages. Also took fascinating cycle tour from the resort. Only loss of a star due to slightly lacklustre meals – breakfast is fine – but high expectations of Thai food (though not all staff were there when we stayed). Very minor point – this was a great place to stay. Above all, a very nice family feel and rural peace.

  30. Paul Clarke says:

We were made to feel so much like home. Very comfortable, clean and was just the most relaxing place to stay. Hans and his wife were great hosts. We had lots of fund with Aum and Alix and the meals were really nice. Very affordable accommodation. Most people probably do not like to stay so far out of the city centre – half an hour but we really enjoyed that aspect. If we came back to Thailand I would not hesitate to stay with Little Village again. Thank you for all you did for us.

  31. Frances Lockett says:

Amazing accomadation in tree hut style houses. Rooms are spacious, have fans and air con, big clean bathroom, comfy mattresses and clean linen. Each room has a big deck in the sun. Nice pool, good resteraunt. The owner haans is VERY helpful. Staff speak good English etc. only downside is that it is our of town, not a huge deal if you don’t mind taxis etc (haans is usually happy to take you also) they have bikes free if charge too.

  32. Mel D. says:

We stayed at Little Village for 5 nights in December 2012, and had the most awesome time. What a great spot! As a family with young children (4 and 1) the pool, trampoline, space to play and run about, and relaxed atmosphere were perfect for us. They had bikes to suit the kids and toddler seats, so we could go biking in the local countryside. They provided honest feedback on locals attractions and there was no selling of or association with the attractions. Nothing was too much problem. Rooms were luxurious, large and clean. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone, hopefully we will stay again sometime!

We would consider hiring a car next time as the property is kind far out of Chiang Mai.

  33. Wanda Dub says:

Little village is a lovely space in a rural setting. Brandnew large cabins, nicely decorated and a big porche where you can sit outsite. It is a good area for cycling and afterwards relaxing at the pool.
The restaurant offers nice food. Be aware of the fact that this is really rural. The closest restaurant is one kilometer away. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

    Hi,
I wanted to send you a quick mail to thank you for the Nature & Culture
tour. We did it at the end of October / beginning of November, and it
was a great experience, with a good mix of what we wanted to see. We
came back with lots of good memories.
I’d like to suggest a potential change for future tours: the hotel in
Phitsanulok (Amarin Nakorn Hotel) might need to be reconsidered, as the
    room wasn’t really clean (bathroom & beds)…
Other than this hotel (and a delay for the bus to Pak Chong), we felt
the organization was really good. We were lucky to find this tour!
    Cheers,
    Vincent

Bref ! Séjour et endroit Super, adresse à conseiller !!!!!

  36. Philip Davies says:

We loved our stay at Little Village, in fact so much that we arranged to come back later in our trip. It’s a wonderful, peaceful location but not to far from Chiang Mai and with transport available an easy trip. Hans, his family and staff could not have made us feel more welcome and took excellent care of us throughout. The bungalows are beautiful and spaciaous enough to accommodate our family of five easily, the pool is 1st class and the welcome was second to none. We loved borrowing the high quality bikes (including a tag along for our youngest) to explore the local area, and Hans arranged lots of activities for us on request. Such an easy place to get lost doing nothing but relaxing, but lots of activities available should you want them. We would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.

  37. Alain Cadet says:

  39. Tony says:

We intended to spend only one or two nights and stayed at the end five nights. We stayed with two young children and they, but also we had a great time. Nicely decorated and very clean Thai style bungalows. Beautiful garden with swimming pool to relax. The host Too is very friendly and the food she makes is excellent, and always some extra in case you desire something.
Hans the husband of Too organized one of the best bicycle rides we have done in Thailand. Very well organized, there was also a scooter bike with sidecar during the ride for the children when they get tired, and they enjoy this very much….
Our children have a lot of fun with their son Sanny, who likes to play football with then.
Hans, Too and Sanny we thank you for a beautiful stay on your mini-resort….

  40. Emma Stevens says:

We stayed here for 3 nights in May and it we can’t fault one thing! A small family run place with only 3 lovely bungalows and a real relaxed/family feel. Hans and his wife couldn’t do enough for us; letting us share their taxi rides, giving us lifts, cooking for us when we needed, arranging tours and offering help and advice. It’s about 25-30 min drive to the centre and costs 400thb (£8) but believe me it’s worth it to stay out of the busy centre, It’s the 2nd biggest city in Thailand! We also did the elephant day trip and the cycle tour with thailandtreks both of which were excellent value. Cheap food and drink were available at the hotel and breakfast was perfect – just what we needed. Rooms were of a high standard; massive shower, massive bed, ac, fan, mini fridge, safe and peaceful balcony to take in the nice gardens and pool area. So chilled after our stay! Also thanks to Alex/Lic who was lovely and very informative!

  41. Patrick and Patricia says:

A great and quiet place to stay. Not far from Chiang Mai. A perfect getaway from the busy city center. In the middle of nature the owners build a few cottages. All of them nicely furnished with all the comfort you need. It is a small family run business and that is exactly what you get. Breakfast is served whenever you want. Even a nice Thai or Western meal is no trouble at all. That is what hospitality is all about. The swimming pool is magnificent. Especially at night. There is a nice dining area outside. You call and they will provide. And for an unbelievable cheap rate. We have nothing but compliments!

  42. Guy Scarsbrook says:

Even before we arrived at Little Village, Hans (the owner) helped us tremendously in planning our stay, letting us know all the possible activities in the area and being very clear on prices. He arranged our collection from Chiang Mai train station, and after a 25 minute drive from Thailand’s hot and bustling second city, we arrived at Little Village in the calm countryside. The site is well laid out, with a covered dining area that overlooks the ample pool and the three separate houses on stilts. Comfortable beds, clean and well-functioning bathrooms and modern air conditioning that is quiet and effective – couldn’t have been better without loosing a flavour of Thailand. The owner’s house is on-site but hidden behind some trees, so he is always available but discrete. There really is so much to do, especially if you hire the minivan taxi – Doi Sutep temple, bike rides around the rice paddies (starting at little village), visit Chiang Mai’s night market or take a boat trip to the herb garden farm, visit and swim in lakes, visit the buffalo market, elephant rides and show – and the chief guide Lek, is one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides I have ever met. We stayed with our three kids (6,4,1) and were really happy that Lek’s family could come along on the excursions with us (we had asked Hans as we wanted our kids to meet Thai kids). Our kids has a great time playing with Lek’s wonderful children. Lek’s wife Am, who always offered to babysit our one year old while we ate, also handled the cooking for us, preparing excellent breakfasts, lunches or suppers as we needed. Bottled water was offered free of charge and drinks from the well-stocked fridge are available on a note-down-what-you-drink basis.
Little village was the highlight of our two weeks in Thailand. We would love to go back.

  43. Michiel Bakker says:

Hello everybody! Stayed here for 5 nights and wish i could have stayed longer. Wonderful bungalows, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many things to do in the area, the owner Hans can help you arrange sightseeing tours and all kinds of activities. We were there as a family but I would recommend it for any kind of traveller. Defenitly come back there!

  44. Frans Rutger Delhaise says:

We have been staying in Little Village with our baby daughter and we had a very nice time. They provided a baby cot free of charge and even a babysit. We felt very welcome and were happy that we decided not to stay in the centre of Chiang Mai. I personally liked the bungalows built in traditional style but with all modern facilities in the room. Nice swimming pool too.

  45. Kevin Jones says:

We are a family of 3 – my husband, 11 year old son and myself. We stayed at the Little Village for 5 nights during May and it was definately the highlight of our trip to Thailand. Hans, his wife Too and their 10 year old son Sanny were the perfect hosts and welcomed us as if we were part of their family. Our large freestanding traditional Thai teak bungalow on stilts was amazing. The bungalow was very clean and had comfortable beds. The property that Little Village sits on is safely fenced in with ample lawned area for children to play, trampoline, bikes, pool the list goes on. This is a perfect getaway for all but especially families with young children. Parents can sit and relax on the porch of their bungalow while they watch their children play. Too’s cooking is delicious and you will definately not go hungry! The meals are excellent value for money. Our son really enjoyed playing with Sanny and learning about the countries each other lived in. We would recommend that you borrow a bicycle from Hans and go for a ride through the country lanes and temple at the top of the hill. There is almost no traffic so very safe for families with younger children. This was our 3rd holiday to Chiang Mai and now that we have found Little Village we will always return for our holidays here. Thank you soooo much Hans, Too & Sanny. What our guests have to say

This place was fantastic, Very calming and peaceful which allowed two very good nights sleep! It's not really in Chiang Mai and takes a bit of effort to get into town so it's a different experience to staying in the city, we went on a bike ride around the local villages nearby which was nice
